While the vast majority of big climbing kilns were being wood burning, there are various different types of wood-burning kiln.  They range from enormous anagama kilns, to tiny igloo-shaped brick kilns constructed by individual potters in their back garden. Since the fire is happening in a very closed container, a reduction environment is formed.�
